What types of flowering trees are available and best for where I live in northern Illinois?

You might enjoy Callery Pear (Pyrus calleryana) with white flowers in the spring; Japanese Tree Lilac (Syringa reticulata) with white flowers in the early summer; Carolina Silverbell (Halesia tetraptera or Halesia carolina), spring flowering; Cherry Plum (Prunus cerasifera), white to pale pink flowers in the spring; Cockspur Hawthorn (Crataegus crus-galli), white spring flowers, red fruit in fall; Crabapple
Malus species and hybrids with pink, white or red spring flowers; or Flowering Dogwood (Cornus florida) with either pink or white flowers in the spring.
