Hostas - Knowledgebase Question

Question by judwilli

My hosta leaves are turning yellow and the tips of the leaves are dying. Can I cut the yellowing/dead foliage or should I cut the hostas back to the ground or do you have another recommendation? Thanks

You can safely cut away the yellowing leaves; new leaves emerging from the center of the plant should be a healthy green. If not, they may be getting too much sun or not enough water. Try soaking the soil and then covering the soil around the plants with organic compost to help keep the soil moist.

Good luck with your hostas.
