any help would be appreciated. jonesborough, tn. zone 6
You can plant those or any shrubs and trees at any time of the year in your climate. The best time and least stressful to the new plant will be in the fall through spring. Do not amend the soil in the planting hole with anything. That just creates an "underground pot" from which roots tend to not grow out into the surrounding soil.
According to my information Sky Pencil Holly is a slow-growing shrub reaching to 6 to 8 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide.
