When dead heading my Martha Washington geranium should I just remove the dead flowers or remove also the green pocket that holds the flowers.

To keep your geraniums flowering all summer long it's important to deadhead them regularly. The best way to do this is to cut or snap the entire flowering stem off the plant. If you also pinch out the growing tips of each stem it will branch out and you'll have a bushy plant with lots of flowers. So, don't be shy - take off the entire flower stem when the flower petals begin to dry out.
