I have a Sentimental Blue Balloon flower planed in a pot in my front yard. It seems like everytime I water it the following morning the flowers that were there have withered away. I haven't taken notice how long the blooms have been there and it has only been repotted for about 10days, so this may be the normal cycle. Should I prune off the spent flowers?

The flower buds are hollow balloons, which gradually inflate and color up. Finally the buds burst open into star-shaped flowers 2- to 3-inches across. They last a few days and if you snip off the dead flowers, more will appear throughout the season. I think your plant is behaving normally. The beauty of the flowers is their progression from buds to balloons. When they open fully, they are spent and should be removed. As the root system matures it will send up even more flowers.
