Weigela - Knowledgebase Question

I have had a weigela for three years. I didn't touch it for those three years. I trimmed it down last year and now it is growing very big, like a bush. It has not flowered at all in the spring. There are not any spots on it that show there should be flowers. What do I do to make it flower or is it not going to flower?

I've seen weigela bloom from early spring to mid-summer so your plant may still bloom for you. Weigela performs best in full sunshine and is generally pruned back hard, both to contain the size and to promote flowering so I don't think your pruning had anything to do with the delayed flowering. It's more weather related than anything else.

Best wishes with your garden!
