|How can I help my tomatoes - the blossoms are withering on the vine and dropping off. I've read they're under stress from too much heat BUT what can I do?|
|There's really nothing you can do about the heat, except wait it out. Usually when temperatures are above 90, tomato plants won't develop flowers - they will just stop growing. If they do have flowers, the pollen will become sterile so no cross pollination can take place and no tomatoes will form. The only thing you can do is either plant your tomatoes earlier in the season so they will form fruit before hot weather arrives, or simply wait until things cool down and your plants are capable of producing flowers and viable pollen. |
Wish I had better news!
