Pharaoh ants can be difficult to control but the most effective control is one with a boric acid base. The ants will take some of the bait back to their nest and feed the other ants so expect to see them in your garden for several weeks after you've baited. There are numerous ant baits available, or you can make your own:

An effective bait is a 99 percent boric acid formulation mixed at a 5 percent concentration by weight in mint apple jelly (about two level tablespoons of powdered boric acid per 10 ounces of mint apple jelly). Place the mixture in jar lids or caps and set them in areas where you see ant.

Best wishes with your garden!
