|My oriental and asiatic lillies all had green foliage until a couple weeks ago. Some presently have buds or blooms on top of stem; however, the rest of the stem is yellow/brown, which should only occur after fully bloomed out and top cut off. Is this some type of blight and how do I get rid of it?
|It does sound like a disease - Southern blight produces the symptoms you describe. Southern blight occurs when temperatures are warm and there's lots of humidity. Even if your weather has been dry, enough humidity can be generated when the soil is wet. I think the best thing for you to do is to take a plant specimen to your local cooperative extension office for professional diagnosis. If it is a blight, you may be able to save the rest of your plants if you act quickly. Contact:
