|My barberry bushes are on the east side of my shed planted 3 years ago and have not grown beyond the size they were when planted do they just take longer to root? do i need to fertilize them more than the surrounding plantings that by the way have tripled in size making it difficult to even see the barberrys|
|Your barberries should have established their root systems by their second summer. I suspect the problem is that they are sun lovers and they just are not getting the required sunshine there on the east side of your shed. If you can move them to the west or south side this fall, they should grow well next spring and summer.
Best wishes with your landscape!
