|what are the planting and care necessary in maintaining a healthy jasmine plant.
Does it need to have moist soil, placed in a sunny or shady area? What type of food is required to be given and how often.
|You didn't indicate where you live so I don't know if you'll be planting your jasmine outdoors or keeping it in a pot and taking it indoors for the winter. Either way, here are some basic growing instructions:
Jasmine prefers full sun to partial shade and a warm site. They grow well in moist, well drained, sandy loam to clayey garden soil with a moderate level of fertility. Adding compost or other organic matter to the planting bed will help the soil drain well yet hold just the right amount of moisture to keep the roots happy. Feed in the spring with a 10-10-10 formulation of slow release fertilzer. Water regularly during the growing season - enough to keep the soil moist but not soggy wet.
If the plant is to be grown indoors during the winter months, then bright indirect or curtain-filtered sunlight should be given. In winter these indoor plants should be provided with full sunlight up to at least four hours a day. Temperature should range from 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit during the days and 50 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit at night.
Hope this answers all your questions!
