I think my bonsai tree is dead it is all dried up, so I pruned it all the way down to nothing. I dont know whether to throw it out or not. Is it dead? Also I have another bonsai tree in the house. How often should I water it? thanks

If your bonsai was all dried up and then you cut it down to nothing, I'd say it's dead and should be discarded. Watering your bonsai really depends on how large the container is, and how much the plant uses. In general, dryness can be tested with a chopstick inserted into the bonsai pot as a sort of dipstick. When the chopstick is pulled out and it is nearly dry, it is time to water. Another method, perhaps used by most people, is to dig half an inch under the soil surface. If it is dry down to this point, it is time to water.
