|I put 5-5-5 on my tomatoes and 15-15-15 on my lawn. Since tomatoe plants are much bigger than a blade of grass, why shouldn't I put lawn fertilizer in my garden. THX Robert|
|It sounds good in theory, but grass blades grow much faster than tomato plants so lawns use much more nitrogen during that growth process than plants such as tomatoes. Grasses need a higher ratio of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium than tomato plants do.
Hope this clarifies things for you.
