I'm in zone 6, and have a birdfeeder habitat. I'd like to entice hummingbirds to my backyard. I am planning to plant attractive flowers in several window boxes which will hang from my deck.

Can you suggest some types of flowers that will do well in full sun that also will be attractive to hummers?

As you already understand, the key to attracting hummingbirds to your garden is to provide them with colorful flowers with a tubular or trumpet shape. Red is the best color, followed closely by orange.

Here is a list of flowers that should fill your needs. There are others as well, but here's a start. Fuchsia might be your best bet. Also nicotiana, salvia, coral bells, lilies, petunia, nasturtium. A wonderful vine which is very attractive to hummers is trumpet vine.

Don't forgetto hang a few feeders close to your windows so you can enjoy them from inside.
