It can sometimes take a full growing season for newly planted trees to become established so your tree might just be showing signs of stress. Water deeply once or twice a week (depending upon weather) to help the roots become established. You might also look for insect pests. Aphid feeding can cause premature yellowing of the leaves if the infestation is great. It's a little late in the season for your tree to replace the lost leaves, but it might. Watch for new growth which will indicate it is recovering. As long as you keep it watered on a regular basis it should leaf out again in the spring. Best wishes with your new trees! |
