|How do you harvest seeds?|
|It depends on the kind of flower, or plant...the methods may be quite different. What plant were you you intending to harvest seeds from? In general, you need to wait until the seeds are mature. For flowers, this might mean that the seed pods are bursting open. For fruits like tomatoes or squash, it might mean when the fruits are past the stage where we usually pick them.
There is a great book called "Seed to Seed", by Suzanne Ashworth, published by Seed Savers Exchange--it's a great reference for saving all sorts of vegetable seed. It is available from The Seeds Savers Exchange, ph# 319-382-5990; address 3076 N. Winn Rd., Decorah, IA 52101.
