We recently purchased a Weeping Willow Spruce Tree from our local Home Depot Garden Store. The planting instructions are very general. The tag states it will grow up to 10 feet wide. Before planting our new invetment how do we know how to place it to know which direction the 10 feet will go. The tree is already leaping in one direction if that helps.
Thanks, Theresa

Even though your tree has developed more branches on one side at this point in its life, you should expect that it will even out as it matures. With that in mind, expect a 10' diameter tree at maturity (5' of growth in all directions from the main trunk of the plant). You'll want to provide at least 7' of space from the nearest building or fence when you plant your tree so it will have room to grow and you'll have enough room to move around and behind it in the event you need to do some fence or building maintenance.
