|I bought Impatiens - the Rose Parade Mix and the Dazzler Mix - and this year I had no success. Only one impatiens grew from the Dazzler mix. I am still trying to see what a Rose Parade Mix looks like in real life. What could I have done wrong?|
|It is possible you planted your seed too deeply. Have you had success growing impatiens in the past?
A shallow layer of vemiculite, perlite or milled sphagnum moss on top of your soil mix will help to maintain soil moisture and prevent damping off. Plant the impatiens seeds on top of your plant starter--they need light to germinate. To help keep the soil moist, place the pot in a loosely-tied plastic bag. As soon as you see sprouts, remove from plastic bag.
