|If grass is creeping into your flowerbeds or you just want a more finished look to your landscaping, brick edging is your answer.
Here's how to install brick edging:
First, measure the length and width of a brick to see how many make one foot of edging. Multiply the number of bricks per foot by the length of the bedding edge to find the total.
Using a trench shovel, dig out an area for the bricks along the landscaped edge. The trench needs to be deep enough to hold the bricks in place, leaving only half the brick exposed.
Place the bricks tightly against each other, adjusting as you go. You could add one inch of sand to the trench and lay the brick on top, to make leveling easier.
Use a rubber mallet and tamp the bricks securely into place.
Keep working in this fashion down the line.
Avoid making sharp corners with edging; it makes mowing easier.
Installing a brick edging is fairly easy, it just takes a little time. Best wishes with your project!
