Since the move from outdoors to indoors will be stressful, I'd wait to prune it back. Give it a few weeks indoors before pruning it back. I think you'll find some of the leaves will yellow because of the change in temperature and light conditions. When this occurs you can prune your plant back to encourage new growth and to remove the old, yellowing leaves. Tropical hibiscus plants develop flowers on new growth so when you take it back outdoors next spring, give it a few weeks to re-adjust and then prune it back to encourage new growth.

Best wishes with your hibiscus!
