I was happy in Spring that all my lillies were growing very well and that they were protected from those nasty deer. However in Summer, none of those lillies bloomed. Why?

It's difficult to say why your lilies did not bloom. They need all day sunshine and if they are overcrowded they will fail to bloom. If yours are not getting at least 8 hours of sunshine every day, plan on digging and moving them later this fall. If they are overcrowded they will compete for nutrients and moisture, which could cause failure to bloom. A final reason for non-blooming is overfertilization. Too much nitrogen can result in lots of lush growth but at the expense of flowers.

Hope this information helps you determine just why your lilies did not bloom!
