I have a silver dollar eucalyptus tree that was planted in Front yard before I moved in 8 years ago. I live in Phoenix, AZ and the front of my house faces North. The bark on the tree is peeling off in strips. What is wrong and what can I do to help it?

Eucalyptus trees are notorious for dropping bark, seed pods and leaves all year around. It is normal for your tree to shed bark. As the tree grows in girth, it actually shreds the existing outer bark and pops it off in chunks. This usually leaves some color mottling on the trunk and branches, which adds interest to the tree.
