What should we do for Hardy Hibiscus in preparing for the winter?

Wait for frost to kill back the tops, then remove the old stalks. Mulch heavily. In spring, remove the mulch as the weather warms and wait for them to re-emerge. These tend to come up very late in the spring as a rule, so you might want to mark their location now so you will know where they are next year.
