| I'm not sure what the problem might be, either! Mums make great container plants. They need all day sunshine and should be watered thoroughly as soon as the top half-inch of soil dries out. The only problem with containers is that sunshine beating down on them can overheat the roots (like an oven). So, try grouping the plants to help shade the pots from direct sunshine, or place something in front of the pots so the afternoon sun doesn't overheat them. When you water, appy it slowly so it wets all the potting soil rather than just running quickly through the drainage holes. You can immerse the pots in a larger container of water to make sure the soil is saturated. I do this once a week during the summer months, just to make sure the soil doesn't dry out too much.
