My azaleas have a milky color to they-what have I done and should I trim them for the fall?

If the leaves are swollen and they look like they have a milky coating on them, you're dealing azalea leaf gall. If the leaves have a powdery coating but are normal shape and size, your plant has powdery mildew. You can prune the affected leaves off now. Be sure to rake up any fallen leaves this winter to remove the pathogens from your garden.
