The Common Wombat (Vombatus ursinus), also known as the Coarse-haired Wombat, is widespread in the cooler and better watered parts of southern and eastern Australia, and in mountain districts as far north as the south of Queensland, but is declining in Western Victoria and South Australia. I'm afraid there are no control measures for these animals. They are herbivores so fencing your garden may keep them from consuming the plants and they may move on to greener pastures.

Best wishes with your garden!
