Leaf rake heads are fan-shaped and often made of plastic, metal or bamboo. Leaf rakes are usually pliable and used for raking up leaves and other loose debris. A garden rake has short, sturdy tines or prongs, and can be used to break up the surface of the soil and collect stones, leaves and other debris. Inverted, it can be used to level the ground.
