I just moved to Fl and I have grub worms. The worms have eaten the Yucca plants to the point they are breaking off at ground level. I am told it's to early to use grub preventative. What do I do? Use it anyway, or lose all plants and grass?

Timing is really important when using a grub control product. Using it now won't have any effect on the grubs because they are not close enough to the surface to come in contact with the product. You can protect your plants by placing a row of small sticks or even popsicle sticks in the ground around the stems of your plants. This will keep the grubs from encircling the stems and munching on them. They are not feeding on the grass roots at this time of year, either, so whatever damage they might do, they have already done. Wait until the proper time to use your grub control product and it will be much more efficient. Best wishes with your landscape.
