I'm in zone 10, tropical south. I recently learned Snapdragons love the cool temps. Dwarf yellow and maroon,2 of each to plant in a bellshaped 14 |
Snapdragons are annual plants so you'll have to expect that they will die out once they've set seeds. Sometimes you can cut off the flowering spike just as the flowers begin to fade and before they set seeds to keep the plants alive a little longer. If you do this they will often set a second flush of flowers. After that, though, they will die. So, consider your snapdragons a short-lived annual and enjoy them when the weather is cool but expect them to die out eventually. As for your current plants, as long as you can keep the temperatures cool and give them a few hours of direct sunshine, they should perform well for another 6-8 weeks. We don't recommend allowing plants to sit in drafts from air conditioners because the air will be dry and could dessicate the leaves. Hope this sheds some light on the subject! |
