|Do I have to spray it for bugs? Do I have to feed it and how much water does it need.|
|Citrus trees are generally pest free so no routine spraying is required but you might remember to hose the tree down a few times during the summer months to discourage spidermites and chase away thrips. Your tree should be fed every 3-4 months. Use a Citrus Fertilizer and apply in amounts as recommended on the package label. Amounts vary depending upon the size of your tree. Citrus trees do best when watered deeply every 7-10 days during the growing season. The best way to do this is to make a basin or watering well beneath the tree and fill it with water, allow to drain and then fill it a second time. Watering in this way will concentrate the moisture directly over the roots, allowing it to trickle down and wet the entire root mass. You won't have to water again until the top inch of soil is dry.
Best wishes with your new tree!
