We want to eat a lot of dinners outdoors in spring, but find the mosquitoes can be overwhelming at times. We have tried citronella candles, any other ideas?

Not only are they highly irritating, mosquito bites can also transmit serious diseases to both people and animals. Protecting yourself, your children and your pets is important for maintaining good health. Knowing how and where mosquitoes like to breed is the key to controlling the population. For instance, eliminating standing water in ponds, birdbaths, watering cans and buckets means mosquitoes have no place on your property to lay eggs. For outdoor mosquito control, there are a number of options from brands such as OFF! and Hot Shot, including space sprays, larvicides, foggers and personal repellent, all available at The Home Depot. Also, try wearing long-sleeved tops and bottoms to decrease the amount of exposed skin.
