We planted two red oak saplings last year and are needing to trim them back some to premote good growth. Where and how do I trim? Also, when is the best time to do it? |
Winter, when the trees are dormant, is the best time to prune your red oak saplings. You can shorten the branches, but leave the main stem and central leader alone. As the trees grow they will develop straight and sturdy growth. Best wishes with your trees! |
