I just purchased a majesty palm. It is about 6 ft. tall. Can I plant this outside for the summer or does it need to be kept indoors? I had wanted to plant it in full sun by the water garden.

For summer, I'd say sure, plant it in a container and bring it outdoors. I've seen palms growing outdoors in summer as far as North as Vermont, so I'm sure yours will do well in Kansas. It's best planted in full sun, in a protected spot away from damaging winds. Wait until the weather is consistently warm (June) to leave it outdoors all day and night. When the first touches of frost come in September, move it indoors to a bright greenhouse or window. It may loose a few leaves from the lower light levels in the transition from outdoors to indoors, but it should survive.
