|I live in Anaheim, Ca. and my zip is 92807. We are eager to plant Apricot and Nectarine and would like your thoughts on the ones that are best for our zone. We have heard conflicting statements....so please advise and also give me information regarding the proper water that these trees will need.
Thanks as alwasy.
|Because of your mild winter weather, you'll want to grow called low-chill varieties. these trees will produce fruit without a pronounced winter chill. Some apricot varieties to look for include Goldkist, Early Gold, Newcastle. Nectarines to plant include Gold Mine, Panamint, Silver Lode, Snow Queen and Sunred. As with all fruit trees, plant them in full sunshine and water deeply once each week. This is especially important when fruit is forming. Best wishes with your new fruit trees!|
