The trick to having a cutting garden is planting at the right time. For instance, in January and February you can plant African Daisies, Ageratum, Alyssum, Bachelor Button, Calendula, California Poppy, Candytuft, Carnation, Clarkia, Delphinium, Everlastings, Gaillardia, Globe Amaranth, Godetia, Gypsophila, Helichrisum, Hollyhocks, Larkspur, Lupines, Nicotiana, Pansy, Petunia, Phlox, Pinks, Poppy, Salpiglossis, Scabiosa, Shasta Daisy, Snapdragon, Sweet Peas, Sweet Sultan, Sweet William, Verbena, and Viola. These plants will produce flowers before the hottest months of the year. I'm afraid you won't have any flowers for cutting from June through August, but the rest of the year you should. Enjoy!
