I recently moved into a house with a pecan tree. The tree is in okay shape even though it hasn't been cared for in 10 yrs. I'm told the tree is 20 yrs old (but I think it looks scrawny) and although it doesn't produce as many nuts as it once did, they are still edible. What kind of care should it receive from here on out, and where are the best places to get more information about my tree? |
It may be that all your pecan tree needs is regular irrigation and regular feeding. Here are two publications that might be helpful to you: http://hgic.clemson.edu/factsh... http://aggie-horticulture.tamu... Once you read these publications you'll have a better understanding of pecan trees and may be able to recognize the symptoms your tree has and find ways to help it become more productive. Best wishes with your new landscape! |
