I'm not sure when I'm supposed to fertilize my various trees & bushes. (I live in Bonita Springs, Fl.)
The winters haven't been very friendly to my hibiscus & several other perennials. Should I cut them back & fertilize now or wait until the Spring?

Wait until you see new growth beginning on your landscape plants before applying fertilizer. You don't want to feed too early because feeding encourages new growth and if the weather gets cold again, that new growth will be susceptible to frost. You can prune out any winter damage in the spring when things begin growing again. Wait a few weeks until you're sure the weather will continue to get warm and you know that spring has officially arrived. Best wishes with your landscape!
