We took out an above the ground pool a couple of years back and filled the hole with good soil and sod. The sod took, but now everything has sunk in and we have a swamp back there when it rains. Should we re-grade the area or can we fill the area with top soil and new sod again? What do you suggest? Thanks!

I think the best solution is to carefully remove the sod, add soil to bring the area back up to the right level and then re-install the sod. You should be able to cut through the sod and roll it up. It will be labor intensive but you will be able to save the sod by rolling it up in strips and stacking it up in a shady area. Try making 12 inch by 3 or 4 foot long strips, digging down far enough to include most of the roots. When you've added soil to regrade the area you should be able to re-lay the sod, water it down well and keep it watered often enough to encourage it to root in the new soil. I hope this solves the problem!
