You can plant trees on a slope and they will grow straight up towards the sun. Most trees will need more than 10' from your house so you may want to plant some upright ornamental cherry trees in those spaces. Other shade tree suggestions include:
BAUHINIA x blakeana - Hong Kong Orchid Tree; Foliage: Semi-deciduous; Exposure: Full Sun to part shade; Bloom Season: April- July. Pale pink blooms.; Growth Habbit: Upright to 30? x 20?; Soil Preference: Well drained soils.

CASSIA leptophylla - Gold Medallion Tree; Foliage: Evergreen; Exposure: Full sun;
Bloom Season: July; Growth Habbit: Upright to 25? x 20?; Soil Preference: Well drained soils.

OLEA europaea ?Swan Hill?; Foliage: Evergreen; Exposure: Full sun; Bloom Season: Insignificant; Growth Habbit: Slow grower to 30? x 25?; Soil Preference: Well drained soils.

Deciduous:
FRAXINUS velutina - Arizona Ash; Foliage: Deciduous; Exposure: Full sun; Bloom Season: May; Growth Habbit: Rapid grower to 40? x 30?; Soil Preference: Well drained soils.

LAGERSTROEMIA indica - Crape Myrtle; Foliage: Deciduous; Exposure: Full sun; Bloom Season: July - October; Growth Habbit: Upright to 25? x 15?; Soil Preference: Well drained soils.

MORUS alba - Mulberry; Foliage: Deciduous; Exposure: Full sun; Bloom Season: March;
Growth Habit: Fast grower to 45? h. x 45? w.; Soil Preference: Well drained soils.
Notes: Purchase fruitless varieties.

PLATANUS x acerifolia - London Plain; Foliage: Deciduous; Exposure: Full sun;
Bloom Season: Insignificant; Growth Habbit: Upright and pyramidal to 70? x 50?;
Soil Preference: Well drained. Tolerates dry soils.

Best wishes with your new trees!
