Can you give me the Latin name for what the British call gilly flower? I think it is a variety of dianthus but don't know which variety.

According to the New York Botanical Garden Illustrated Encyclopedia of Horticulture, "gilliflower" is an old-fashioned name for carnations (Dianthus caryophyllus), English wallflower (Cheiranthus cheiri) and stocks (Matthiola incana).
