How do I propagate Virginia bluebells? I have a nice size clump on the north side of the garage and would like to have more in other parts of my yard . Can the clump be divided, or should I watch for seeds? When should they be planted ?

Virginia Bluebells can be divided after they've finished blooming, or you can collect seeds and plant them in new areas. They grow most reliably from seeds collected and saved until October, then sown in the area you want the new plants to grow. But, you can divide the clumps of Virginia Bluebells, as well. Why not try both methods and see which is most successful for you? For even better results, be sure to plant them where they'll get similar sun exposure and moisture.
