transplanting tulips - Knowledgebase Question

When is the best time of year to transplant tulips? I live just west of Denver,CO.

Thanks for any advice.

Wait until the foliage dies down, then dig the bulbs and transplant. The foliage provides energy for the bulbs to store for next year's growth so you want to allow it to die down on its own to get every last drop of stored energy. When the leaves turn crispy brown, you can dig the bulbs.
