|I have had two queen palm trees for about 3 years now and they are still the same size now as they were when I bought & planted them. Do they grow slow are is there something I'm not doing. These are to the front. I have one to the back of my house That I planted shortly after the first 2 and its grown about 2 feet. Help!|
|Queen Palms typically grow 2-3 new fronds a year so while they are not very fast growing, they should be putting out some new growth each year. The ones you describe as being the same size as they were 3 years ago are obviously struggling to survive. I wonder if they are getting more or less water and fertilizer than they need, or if the soil is extremely hard around the roots? Before digging them up to inspect the roots, try feeding them lightly with a palm food and then watering them deeply once each week to see if that makes any difference in their growth. If not, you may need to dig them up, amend the soil and then replant them. Hope it doesn't come to that!
Best wishes with your landscape!
