Do you know of a source for purchasing dragonflies for controling mosquitos? They are really bad in my area.
Also is there a really good treatment for small black ants?

I couldn't find a source for dragonflies, but I did come across a few other options. First, to reduce adult mosquito populations, how about attracting bats to your yard? Bats consume massive quantities of mosquitos, and byputting up a few bat houses around your yard, you might just get some to settle there. In fact, if there are lots- of mosquitos, you probably already have a fair number of bats in the area. The houses might just keep them -closer to home. Bats are quite particular about their habitat, so follow instructions that come with the bat house.

Another thing to try a biological control called Bt israelensis. This bacteria control mosquito larvae in their water-breeding sites. Peaceful Valley Farm Supply (ph# 888-784-1722) carries both bat houses and B.t.

If you find the ants' nest, you can try pouring boiling water over the nest. have used two things successfully when dealing with ants. The first is a homemade bug spray: 1 gallon water, 1/2 tsp. eucalyptus oil, 1 tbsp. vegetable oil, 1 tbsp. dishwashing liquid. Combine all ingredients and shake well. Pour liquid into a spray bottle. When applying shake often to keep components evenly distributed. This "potion" works well on ants and aphids in particular (cats don't like it much either).

I hope this helps!
