How can I cut my plant to make two? I have one that is too tall and want it to branch out. |
Plumeria typically branches out after it has flowered. You can't make it branch out, it gets its branching signal through maturity and the process of flowering. However, you can prune your plumeria in the springtime, taking it back as far as you want, even as low as 12" above the soil surface. Use a sharp tool, make cuts at an angle, then dip the new cutting into rooting hormone and root it. (or you can let the end cure for a few days, before rooting). Plant it in moistened potting soil and it should root in 4-6 weeks. Best wishes with your plumeria! |
