My lawn is on the north side of my house and see very little sunlite. It seems every spring when I rake the grass, big patches of old brown grass just pull out. Then I am left with large bare spots. I end up reseeding every year. I do use Scotts weed and feed 4 times a year. What else should I be doing? |
Lawns simply won't thrive in the shade, even if you seed them with shade tolerant grasses. I'm afraid that if you want lawn in that area, you will need to reseed each spring. Or, you can plant a shade tolerant groundcover such as pachysandra in the area. It remains green, thrives in the shade and, best of all, doesn't need mowing! |
