I have a 24'x24' garage foundation (concrete pad)w/3 cinder block walls (4 cinder blocks tall) which are mostly underground. I have a limited budget..is there a way to transform this area into a greenhouse ?(I have saved some old windows & doors) Can I make raised beds directly on the concrete on the perimeter of the concrete pad floor or underlay w/rock ?? |
You can frame out some walls and add the windows but helping you design a greenhouse is out of my comfort zone. I think the library might have books on do it yourself projects. You can make raised beds directly on the concrete floor providing you place perforated pipes along the bottom of the bed and make holes in the sides of the beds for the pipes to protrude and drain out excess water. Don't use rock or gravel, use perforated pipes so they can channel excess water out of the bed. Otherwise it will turn into a soupy mess at the bottom of the planter. Good luck with your project! |
