Hollyhock seeds should germinate in 10-12 days at 60F to 70F degrees. The seeds need light to germinate; simply sprinkle on the top of moistened seed starting mix and press them in with your hand, but don't cover the seeds with additional soil. Put plastic wrap over the seed starting tray, to help hold in moisture, and place the tray in a warm area, like on top of your refrigerator. After most of the seeds have sprouted, remove the plastic and place the tray in a brightly lit area. You might try digging one or two of your seeds out of the soil to see if they've begun to germinate. If not, exercise a little more patience. If the seeds are rotted, they were probably overwatered and planted too deeply. Try again with fresh potting soil and fresh seeds, following the guidelines above. Good luck!
