We purchased 2 foxtail palms from a local home garden store and since the frost got to them they look as tho they had not survived--how do i know they are alive or not? We trimmed off the fronds and they now look like sticks. Thanks for your response. Joan

I would give your foxtail palms the benefit of the doubt for the next month or two. Sometimes a frost will not only damage the fronds but also set them back for a while. They need to gather their strength in order to recover and then they need a little more time to develop new fronds. Give your plants another month or two. If you still see no new growth, they will have to be replaced. Let's hope for the best!
