When do hostas grow back (or did mine die?) - Knowledgebase Question

Last year, I planted 2 hostas in an area that gets afternoon sun. In the fall, I noticed the leaves were turning brown. The leaves have fallen off since winter. Will my hostas grow back this spring or are they dead?

Most hostas prefer to grow in shady conditions so I think yours is getting too much sunshine. They do naturally lose their leaves in the winter months and produce new ones in the spring so I expect yours will leaf out later this month. You might consider moving it to a shadier spot in your garden so the leaves don't burn this summer. Good luck with your hostas!
